In which I mine my music collection for inspiration, and decide to have fun answering questions posed by song titles.

It's cool to see more reply posts happening on the feed. To all the folks that post regularly, even daily, you are Very Impressive. Way to go!
I think Animal Collective cheated a little bit by answering their own question in the song title, but you know what? Sky is what I want, too. Unfortunately my little city had some of the worst AQI ratings in memory this summer due to wildfire smoke drifting down from the north. 2023 and 2025 were both bad firesmoke years where I live, and since then I've been looking at the sky a lot more. You don't know what you've got 'till it's gone, and all that. Clean air and a blue not-hazy sky are not something I take for granted in 2026.
I mean, of course they do. Crass asked this over 50 years ago, and the answer hasn't changed. What's a person to do these days? The job market, in many areas and sectors, is absolutely terrifying. The problem is, many people never get what they're owed in life, and that doubly applies to those that precipitated and exacerbated our current economic climate.
This is a fun one to think about. My answer is "sometimes a bit of both", with parallel being a failure case at attempted togetherness. In the communities I'm part of, it's quite common to see a lot of folks pointed in the same direction, but only minimally intersecting in their individual journeys. Maybe that is enough. I guess answering this question by simply saying "no" would be even worse, which is something that I hadn't considered until now.
Of course I do, and I don't plan on stopping. We all need something to believe in, and absent a higher power, I'm quite content to believe in you. And if I'm willing to believe in you, maybe you should believe in yourself a little bit more. Deal?
